Route 6A

...to 665 Commercial Street

semi-overcast

Fresh fruit salad, Brioche French Toast, Roasted Veggie Fritatta and steaming hot coffee greet us this morning...breakfast of champions! Our cars are packed once again, hugs to our innkeepers, Stacy & Rich.... hugs all around and we are off to seize the day...carpe diem. We stop at a few yard sales and find a treasure which we will incorporate into our house somewhere. "The treasure" is a unique green-beaded and tiered lampshade. I love green-all 40 shades of green-so when I see something that interests me and it's green, it's hard for me to pass it up. I love it. The journey East is still a long one but...we make one more stop in Sandwich to a juried craft show on the library lawn where I find a few handmade gifts that I just cannot pass up.

We get back on the road and drive through all the little towns: Barnstable, Dennis, Brewster and on..and on...until....we reach Wellfleet. Wellfleet is another favorite town. There is a quaintness I cannot describe; this village has the best little shops, wonderful eateries, interesting galleries, the water, the boats...a real gem. A favorite stop every year and a day trip for our group.

We're here! Home at last! 665 Commercial Street! From the looks of our little driveway..the gang is all here too! We step into the house and discover our new, beautiful kitchen complete with Bevie, our hostess with the mostest, already making cosmos! Jo comes to greet us..we haven't seen her since last year and she looks fabulous! We make it official with a toast of Bevie's Cosmos to this years vacation...and so the laughter begins. Janie, our wacky one, posts a photo of our bar stock announcing that our vacation has officially begun...to the Facebook community. We are all buzzing around the house sharing our stories from the day and showing off our "finds"! First day, we take our much longed-for walk into P- town, noticing the changes made from last year, admiring gardens and snapping photos on our way in. The town is packed tonight, lots of activity... street performers, music coming from the clubs and restaurants, outdoor dining establishments filled with people enjoying the fare, and the "ladies" all decked out and posing for the cameras! Oh what fun...

It's been another great day! Time for some rest now so we can play again tomorrow!
