"If you're fond of sand dunes and salty air...."

Our yearly Cape Cod vacation is right around the corner. One week to go and we will be on our way to beaches, sand dunes, sun and fun. A 5-6 hour drive door to door but worth every minute. We will be leaving bright and early to get over either the Bourne or Sagamore bridge by early afternoon. From that point the drive is just so enjoyable. We start in the town of Sandwich and usually stop at several yard sales. We've found a few treasures over the years as well as ideas for gardens, decorating, etc....love, love, love it! A bite to eat, a night at a B&B then off through all the towns we go until the very end and to our summer place for one week....Provincetown. There are seven of us..Jane, the fun, wacky hippie girl, Dennis, who sings like Bob Seeger, is our driver, guide and timekeeper who keeps everyone on a time schedule so we get to and from where we are going in one day; he is also the patient one.... sits on every bench, in every town on our travels and waits patiently while we shop. Jo is our techie, has the best laugh in the world, fixes all of our computer and phone issues, introduces us to new technology, is also our kayak instructor and karaoke girl. Bevie is the Queen...the hostess with the mostest, our fashionista, our tinkerbelle. You never know what Bevie will say or do next but it is always hilarious..the kindest heart. Doug, our Richard Dreyfuss look-a-like, (constantly stopping to give autographs) always smiling, intelligent, debonaire, sweet and very funny; he is the best story teller and has lots of great tales. Then there is Rick..my love...crazy as a loon, the candyman, the funnyman, hard to describe. To describe Rick in a nutshell...let's just say...NUTS ( in capital letters!)...in a very good way; he brings a lot of comedy into our lives. And there is Linda, (that's me)....adventurer, creative, artist...always ready for fun! This is our group, this is where we gather and catch up with our life events, cook, eat, drink, shop, swim, kayak and "laugh our arses off"! This is where we let our hair down, where we regroup, where we sing and dance, where we are able to let the tears flow from the tough times in our lives. This is where we have heart to heart talks, listen and support each other, share and breathe! This place, every year reminds us of how blessed we are to be here all together- again. We love and appreciate every moment.

So...let the packing begin!
